Starbucks is truly one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I love stopping in for a coffee or frappuccino whenever I need a little pick-me-up. My daughter often accompanies me on my Starbucks runs and always requests her own iced tea and sweet— more often than not choosing one of the popular Petite Vanilla Bean Scones because of their small size.
I, too, love these little treats because they're just the right size (and they're quite tasty too!). Because most of my visits to Starbucks occur in the afternoon, I never get the chance to enjoy these sconeswith my morning coffee ... where I would undoubtedly dip them in my cup for an even more delicious experience!
So what's a girl to do? Make her own batch of COPYCAT Starbucks Petite Vanilla Bean Scones to enjoy at home! Here's the recipe (you're welcome!):

Put the dough onto a floured surface then knead briefly until dough comes together.
Roll out dough to about ½" thickness.
Cut dough into eight rectangles or squares. Then cut each or this on one diagonal and then on the other, creating 32 petite scones.

Your mom
i found this recipe, and was really excited to make it. The picture looks just like the ones at Starbucks. Although as I was making the recipe the dough was just really wet. I added a 1/4 of flour thinking I added too little of the amount of flour. The consistency didn't change at all so I put it in a baking dish and baked it. Once it was done baking I cut it into triangles. I am very disappointed in the recipe, because the scones were dry, flavorless, and somehow wayyy to savory for my friends and family. I would have given this recipe another chance but I disliked it so much I did not.

Perhaps the texture was off because you didn't follow the directions. You don't put scone dough in a dish and bake it and then cut it into triangles. WIth all the other glowing reviews, I'm betting your technique was the issue. Mine were perfect!

Just tried this recipe following all the directions and ingredient amounts and the scones Were delicious. I like that the dough isn't sickly sweet, so it complements the glaze.Reply

Delicious! Even better than Starbucks! Will definitely make these again. This recipe was so easy, I have no idea why I waited so long to make these!Reply

These are BETTER than Starbucks! We added about 1/2 c more flour to get the dough consistency just right. SO good. I've made like 5 times and they turn out great and are even better one day later!Reply

I just made these and I was surprised how soft the dough was compared to other scones I have made, but they taste amazing. My only complaint is the bottoms got a little dark will the top remained lightly browned so I may have to fiddle with the temperature but other than that they were really good.Reply

How many does one recipe make in a batch if you cut them in petite pieces?

These were fantastic! Dough seems dry when coming out of the food processor but as you knead and the butter softens, the consistency is perfect. My husband likes these without the glaze ("they're healthier that way," he says....I don't think he saw how much butter goes in!!). I love them with the glaze- adds just enough sweetness. The recipe above makes a LOT of glaze, which makes it easier to dip scones, but if you want to drizzle or brush on you may not need as much- I kept the extra for another batch in a few days (yes, they're that good!).Reply

I made the recipe by the back, although I could use some practice on my shaping/cutting them out. Turned out delicious. The only thing I noticed is that it took more heavy cream for the icing than it called for.Reply

They are great!! I only put them in about 8 mintues. I also used vanilla bean paste and not the actual vanilla beans. Worked great!Reply

Absolutely LOVE this recipe!!! I have made it many times and it never fails! Better than Starbucks by far. Do you have any recommendations or tricks to store these so they don’t get sticky or soft? How’s the best way to store these overnight? Thank you so much in advance!!!!

I made these today and I cannot say more great things about this recipe. If you love the Starbucks vanilla bean scones, you will love these even more. They're the perfect texture, soft, and flavourful. I used the same measurements and did not have any issues at all. I combined the flour mixture using a whisk, and the butter and flour mixture using my hands, it worked out fine. I also substituted the vanilla bean with an extra 1 tsp of vanilla extract. I can see myself making these again and again.Thank you for the recipe!Reply

Have had this recipe for quite some time, but just never got around to making it. I guess The main reason is because of the expense of the vanilla Bean. So the other day I broke down and bought some vanilla beans and I must say that these scones are very very good. And I don’t even have the icing on them yetReply

I am in love! Had to add a little extra heavy cream as i live in a high altitude, dry area. But other than that they came out delicious. First time making scones but definitely won’t be the last!Reply

I just love this recipe. I think it makes slightly too much glaze, so I always cut that part in half, but they're soooo delicious and a perfect 2-3 bites. I've made them a few times, with no troubles at all. I do them by hand, just to get a feel for the dough, but they're still just as easy. YUM.Reply
