Pickleballs for Outdoor Play
The most prevalent brands of outdoor pickleballs are: TOP, Dura, and ONIX. All three of these balls are approved by the USA Pickleball Association's for tournament play. All three are seamless. They are made through a rotationally molded one piece construction process. After cooling, holes are drilled out of the ball. Outdoor pickleballs have thick wall construction for increased durability.
Pickleballs for Indoor Play
There are several brands of indoor pickleballs available: Dura Big-Hole Indoor Balls, Jugs Indoor, Midnight Indoor, Gamma Photon Indoor, and ONIX Fuse Indoor Balls. If you are playing in a tournament, check with the tournament director to find out which balls are approved for use in tournaments.

The TOP Pickleball (The Outdoor Pickleball) is used for outdoor play. TOP balls, like other outdoor balls are heavy, weighing in at 25 grams, or 0.88 ounces. The TOP ball is made in China.
The TOP ball is seamless. It is constructed through a rotationally molded one-piece construction process. After cooling, holes are drilled into the ball. TOP balls have thick wall construction for increased durablility.
The TOP ball is available in yellow, orange, neon and white.
The Dura pickleball is mostly used for outdoor play. Dura balls are considered the "original" pickleball. The Dura Fast 40 is a heavy outdoor ball. Dura pickleballs are made in China. Formerly called Dura 56 balls, the manufacturer has changed the name to Dura Fast 40. Dura 56 and Dura Fast 40 pickleballs are the same ball - just different names. There are 40 holes, of varying sizes, in the Dura Fast 40 ball. Dura Fast 40 pickleballs are available in white, yellow, neon and orange.

ONIX PURE 2 Outdoor Ball by ONIX Sports
The ONIX PURE 2 Outdoor Pickleball was designed to perform consistently in all outdoor conditions. Unlike most outdoor balls, the PURE 2 Outdoor ball is produced using an injection molded process and has holes that are all the same size rather than varying size holes. This process generates a long lasting ball that flies true and bounces consistently throughout its life.
Jugs Pickleball (Indoor) by Jugs Sports
The Jugs pickleball is mostly used for indoor play. Jugs are made of soft plastic and have big holes and a fun bounce. The Jugs ball weighs .85 ounces. Jugs balls are made in Taiwan. Jugs are available in white and bright lime-green.
The Big Hole Dura pickleball is mostly used for indoor play. Big Hole Duras are just like the standard Dura pickleballs but lighter (0.9 oz) with bigger holes to slow the ball down. The Big Hole Dura ball is seamless. It is constructed through a rotationally molded one piece construction process. After cooling, holes are drilled out of the ball. The Big Hole Dura is very durable; they have a thick wall construction. The Big Hole Dura pickleball ball is available in white, yellow, neon and orange.

The Midnight Indoor Pickleball is designed for indoor use. After hearing from our customers that they wanted a darker-colored indoor ball, PickleballCentral had the Jugs balls dyed in darker colors. The Midnight Indoor Pickleball is made of soft plastic and has big holes and a fun bounce. These balls are about 0.85 ounces. The Midnight Indoor Pickleball is available in black, red, pink and indigo blue.
ONIX Fuse Indoor Pickleball by ONIX Sports
The ONIX Fuse Indoor Pickleball is the large-holed version of the innovative ONIX Fuse Outdoor Pickleball. This ball was specifically designed to fly straighter, bounce more accurately and last longer. The seamless ball is heat-welded together to ensure maximum longevity. Available in yellow or orange.
